About:
Amateur gardener, professional weeder.

I try to squeeze in as much time in my yard as I can between working for the Department of the Navy and being a full-time grad student. I inherited my green thumb from my paternal grandfather, who maintained a beautiful two acre vegetable garden well into his eighties. Right now, I have the enjoyment but not the time or the space to achieve that kind of a garden, but I hope to have his kind of success on a small scale someday.

Without a paddle.

We've received a bit over six inches of rain since early Sunday morning. The sun finally appeared this afternoon, but we stand a good chance of thunderstorms again tonight. I took a walk around the yard to survey the damage. I've definitely got some work to do. One of my gutters was clogged and became so heavy with rain and debris that it pulled away from the house. Paige, thanks, we have eaten the pineapple and it was great. Very juicy and sweet. Looking forward to more pineapples next summer.

You know, that's a good question.
Had to ask my husband. It's his family home. Even had to use a metric conversion website cause stuff like that still doesn't compute in my head. *lol* Comes out to be close to 11,000 sq. feet total. Take out the house and that leaves somewhere around 650 sq. feet of yard and garden. Still doesn't mean much to me. Just know that I have room to play around. That will be the saddest part about moving back to the states in a couple years. No way I'll have this much room again.

Hello Paige!
Thanks for the comments about my photos. I love gardening and love taking pictures of what's going on in the garden. It's nice sharing those things with people who might not think I'm totally nuts for being obsessed with all things green! *lol*
