Earth Day: Do It Yourself

lets get this out of the way first .... CHarlie is Sooooooo Cuuutteeee - is s/he a new one of yours?
Okay back to Earth Day stuff ... most of the time people don't need to go far from their own home to find hidden bits of trash. Sanitation trucks drop a lot of trash that they are unaware of, and if you live close to a highway you know that those big trucks don't always keep it all in at 55 mph!
Three times a year (Earth Day, Midsummer, and Fall Equinox) we give the kids each a pair of rubber gloves, a plastic sack (recycling those ones from the stores) and the family goes out to patrul the 'easement' around the property where the junk collects ... under bushes, around street signs, in the tall grass, in the fairy rock garden, etc.
Check you city or county website and find where the nearest disposal center is - usually around Earth Day or Arbor Day our local centers will allow people t bring stuff in for free.
