I've been away for a bit. Life has been stressful and I've been a bit down. So much keeps going wrong with the house. I've been pretty mentally and emotionally exhausted. Through the rougher times I make sure that I keep working on the garden, appreciating the chickens, and keep learning - however small I may think it is. My chicken-ladies are doing wonderfully. They'll be about a month old on Thursday, and I am anxious to get them out of the house, out of their brooder box, and into the coop and kennel.

I planted some seedlings this weekend and chose the spot for our two raised beds. I hope they will get enough sun. We haven't been in the house very long and are still learning how things go during all seasons.

We bought a chicken coop of someone in town. His dog kept eating all of his chickens and the coop is good as new! I was dreading having to build one since I haven't built up my tool collection.

The coop did fall out of the back of our friend's truck on the way to our place, but the seller offered to come back to our place and help us put it all back together. Yay!

Tomorrow I will get a bit of fencing for around the coop and then it will be good to go. We plan on letting them free range the lan… Continue
