Sorry about your tree branch, but I do think that you are hosed as far as getting the root tone to grow a new tree.

In order for root tone to work properly, you need to have a clean cut on a plant that is easy to root....fruit trees are not one of those plants. Even then is a gamble, but broken branch is not a good specimen to use. If you are interested in propagating fruit trees using root tone, then I would tell you to look up layering and air layering techniques. But that is a 6month+ project.

You can have bees in the city. In fact one of the largest private honey producers in the USA has his bee hives all over New York City and Manhattan.

What do you need? At a minimum you need a smoker, Bee suit, Bee gloves to be able to handle the bees. Then of course you will need bees, either a captured swarm or purchase packaged bees from a supplier and install them in the hive yourself. You need a source of water for them as well, a creek or river within 1/4 mile of you hive. If not then you must supply water to them near the hive.
