One of my favorite things to do when buying things from farmers is to ask them how to use it. You can get some great ideas. It reminds me a little of one of my favorite Christmas movies, Prancer. (We have yet to watch it this year, but it's one of...

Mike thank you so much, great website. I actually visited a couple of farms and ended up buying honey out of someones shed. Ya I'm trying to do the local thing and it's a pretty cool adventure.

I went to www.localharvest.org and here is the search result for Massechusetts. This will help you find what you are looking for.

Well, there is cleaning, and there is washing. You definitely clean it, you just do not use soap. The soap will eat through all of the work that you've done seasoning the pan. Get the pan clean with the salt and oil, rinse most of the oil out wit...

Mike thank you so much. I actually went to the Lodge website, made in America and a good workout for the arms. I'm going to buy the pan and dutch oven. I like the idea of cooking with cast iron I was always leery about not "washing" it. I like the...

Cookware is like any other tool, you need the right thing for the job. I've seen people make eggs in all-clad non-stick but I don't know how they do it without gobs of oil. The stainless is super sticky. That stick is great for making steaks with ...

I really like your creativity with a few special objects in your yard. I noticed the mirror in another picture - I bet the "fairies" love it....!

What wonderful color! We have had so much cold weather here in Saskatchewan that most people lost their flowering plants. Believe it or not, south west Sask. is supposed to get 8" of snow today....ugh!

COMPOST!

Does anyone know if the big compost tumblers really work. I almost lost my mind turning my out of control pile. Now it's just a huge messy mess behind the shed. I need to make usable compost quick before meltdown.

The descriptions for the photos are below the pics. Thanks, we made the ceder and twig cucumber trellis from downed trees we had from an ice storm. It has lasted for 5 years to date. I expect it to last at least another 5 before we have to replace anything.
