I need to take a moment and praise my wife. She has been let go from 20 plus years of working and has taken on many of the gardening jobs. She has done a fantastic job!

Hidden Gardens is beautiful! All the top names! Trees everywhere! Well worth a visit......bring a Loan application! credit cards, and Blank Checks! It is a bit expensive. But I would go there to look around. As with any place there are Treasurers to be found.

I've heard that Hidden Gardens is great. I go to Good Earth Greenhouse in River forest, http://www.goodearthgreenhouse.com/ and City Escape, http://www.cityescape.net/ in Chicago for my very few high end items.

Most of my stuff comes from Clovers in Berwyn or the OP Plant Sale.

I am concerned, Vaughn's in Western Springs has closed. The Farm Stand in Westchester is tiny. I've taken to driving to Sid's, downby Palos' Park for a wide variety. Of course there's Goers' in Hinsdale and Hidden Gardens' in Darien . The Home improvement stores don't hold a candle to a quality Garden Center.

You know, I was just wondering that too. My local garden shops seem to be a little slow on getting in their plants. Maybe it's the down right cold spring we've been having.

Is it me or does there seem to be less Nurseries and Farm Stands this young year?
