I just watched the Real World Green video called "clean your garbage, be green" from January 2008 about freecycle.com, a website to get give your unwanted things to someone who can use them. It reminded me of another great site called craigslist.org. Search local listings of items for free, barter or sale.

We haven't tried Craig'slist yet, but Freecycle has been great for us. It can be really quick. I find something in the back of a closet that I have no use for, I post it, select the responder and put the ting on my porch. It can be gone in a day. I have rarely had people fail to show up, and only once without contacting me.
