Very cool. I think people would also use an electric/battery powered trimmer if the power was there. The old electric ones were ok it was just the power cord that was the hassle. Great show!

It sounds like it might be verticillium or fuscarium wilt. Pull it, burn or toss it (NOT compost it), and grow something other than tomatoes (or other nightshades) in that area for at least the next 5 years.
It will get you a lot better chance, anyway. Note that "regularly" does not necessarily mean frequently. You still want to provide the equivalent of 1" of rainfall a week for most crops. If you water too frequently, your plants will be shallow roo...
